Sportive Anonymous Society

August 28, 1997. The date marks the formation of S.A.D. (Sportive Anonymous Society) of the União da Madeira. It was the first S.A.D. to be incorporated in Portugal and resulted from an amendment to the bylaws by resolution of the General Meeting of 14 August. This procedure allowed the Club to invest financially, providing the União da Madeira with structures at the highest level of Portuguese football, namely the Sports Complex, at the Vale Paraíso site in Camacha, consisting of two turf fields, a synthetic, medical area.
